I'm The Bread Of Life - sung by St Thomas More choir, Subang Jaya

The theme of our Gospel readings for the past few weeks have been I Am The Bread Of Live.

I felt it apt to share this piece of beautiful hymn with all those who visit my Facebook page: http://facebook.com/creativecatholics as well as this blog.

I would like to thank my choir member Marilyn for once again doing a great job of converting her audio file into video so it can be uploaded here for everyone's listening pleasure.

In our tiredness of relying on our own strength, may we be reminded that Jesus is the bread of live.

The living food of eternal life!!! Amen!!!

Thanks to all the musicians and singers of St Thomas More 11.30am choir for sharing your talents so that everyone can worship God every Sunday.

You all are truly Creative Catholics.

P.S. Stay tuned for more music from our choir, thanks to Marilyn's great works.

Silent Auction To Stop The Silent Scream !!!

A REBEL WITH A CAUSE ... Christine Das is doing her thing - solo art exhibition and at
the same time promoting her Catholic-Christian values of highlighting PRO LIFE issues.

She has decided to help, in her own way, stop the silent scream of the voiceless
foetus in the womb who are being aborted every second, even as this blog
is written.

How?

Well, she has decided to generously donate one of her pieces to a silent auction in which
100% of the proceeds will go to fund the Human Life Services in Miri.

This non-profit organisation helps to counsel, offer shelter to unwed mothers as well as assist in the
adoption of the babies after they are born.

It also helps people become aware that abortion is definitely not the only option when
an unwanted pregnancy occurs.

This organisation is very close to my heart personally, as our beloved daughter
Mary Isabelle was sent to us from God through Human Life Services, Miri.

Christine said that minimum bid will start from RM3,500.

During her solo exhibition in MATIC, Kuala Lumpur, 20-25 pieces of her work
depicting nature will be displayed.

The main theme of the exhibition is her HOT for Nature series. However, her other work
like Pathways and Flock Together will be seen too.

"I use mostly vibrant colours to represent the happiness in life. There's already enough sadness
and negative things around. Even when I want to express a difficult moment in my life journey
in one of my Pathway paintings, I use purples and blues -not grey or black,'' she explained.

Christine said her work also gives a voice to the voiceless like the environment which is
currently being badly abused for profit.

Besides, her paintings, Christine will also launch her postcard series which are printed
recycled paper.

So block your dates and bring your friends (don't forget to come with your generosity
and your cheque book or credit card) to MATIC ART GALLERY, Hall 2.

At a glance:

Date: 3rd -28th Sept 2012

Venue: 109, Jalan Ampang, 50450 Kuala Lumpur
            Malaysia Tourism Centre (Matic)

Time: 7pm on the 3rd for the official launch.

P.S. btw, I nicknamed her REBEL WITH A CAUSE is because in today's world which the Culture Of Death is prevalent, standing up for LIFE will make her and anyone Catholic or otherwise a REBEL WITH A CAUSE.

More Merchandise

During this 3rd week of Lent, Creative Catholics has finally
come to live again after a long break. For those who have
been subscribing and following this blog, please accept my
humble apologies.

Last year was indeed a very hectic and busy year. What
took up almost half a year of 2011 was the staging of St
Thomas More - The Musical.

It was also a testimony that with God everything is possible.
How you may ask? Well for starters, due to desperation
and need, yours truly actually wrote four original songs
for the musical.

It still baffles me till this day. But as I said with God, all things
are possible even when others thought it impossible. So Tom
Cruise is not the only one who can handle a Mission Impossible, eh?

That brings me to the idea that since the musical was an original
idea and also four of the songs on it are, perhaps there is a way
to put them up here too since this is a blog to promote Creative
Catholics right?

Anyhow I discovered on Amazon that they have this service
called CreateSpace in which it helps writers and composers to
sell their original work with its help. I'm really excited about it.

For starters, to kick start this new label - More Merchandise
= everything and anything related to St Thomas  More, I've
created a carousel widget of books written by the saint himself
and also books others wrote about him.

There's also a medal you can order from them. So if you are
a Thomas More fan like me, here you go, check out my widget
on the right.

Once I checked out what CreateSpace can help me with,
perhaps I can put up the original songs from the musical here too.
Who knows, maybe even the recorded video of the musical?

Stay tuned for more from this blog. I pray to the Lord I shan't
be a slacker into the future, okay? Pray for me too, please.
Pretty please.

It's a Card, no, it's a Nativity set, no, it's BOTH!

Comes as 6 cards/Nativity sets in one pack.

At first it opens up like a card. You can write
your greetings and wishes on the light blue
patch below.

Turns into this Nativity scene, with a few folds.

This little ingenius creation is the work of art of a dear friend of mine
- Christine Das. Though, she's normally publicity shy (so far) about
her work being blogged, I'm sure she won't mind this one as
it was openly announced in church before.

She and her husband have so generously donated these
cards to St Thomas More for our fund raising project. All proceeds
from it will go towards our building fund (CKK Building Fund).

There are only 47 sets left so far (at the time of blogging), so please
email me and pay immediately to secure a set of these limited edition cards.

For those from outside Malaysia, you can still have these cards
shipped to you or you can have me post them directly now to your
family and friends with your intended messages (for an additional
fee ofcourse).

Malaysians, if you want them posted directly to your friends and
family too - can be arranged. Just email me the person/s you intend
the cards to be sent to, your message and their mailing addresses.

Make someone smile this Christmas!

Price: $10/pack
Additional services: extra $10/pack (means we send to
6 different individuals for you)

Note: The additional service is only available from now
till second week of December.

** Please pray for Christine, she doing something really really
 special for our new church.

Christine, hope you will allow me to share about it in detail.
Better still, you contribute a story about your current experience.
Also please la, let me show off some of your artwork here...
pretty please....(pardon the grammar, using a little Malaysianised
 English, fondly known as Manglish)

Christmas With CrisKroz - A Family Heartbeat

Last year's Christmas Battle Of the Bands champion CrisKroz is once again making waves during this Yuletide season.

This time, they are launching their very first album entitled A Family Hearbeat on 3 Dec.

The official launch will be held in Wisma MAA at 3pm.

In line with the spirit of season, the album showcases 10 tracks of Christmas songs, of which two (Emmanuel and Peace He Will Bring) are original numbers written by the band's vocalist and song writer Cecelia Biggs.

CrisKroz was born as a result of the members' decision to take part in the Christmas Battle of the Bands competition held at the Central Market open arena last year.

Besides Cecelia, the group consist of Ravi Kana, who is not only keyboardist and vocalist, but also her beloved spouse.

Then there's Aaron Ravi, their son and guitarist of the band. Other members are Aloysius John, who plays bass and Christopher Felix on drums.

With the RM10k competition cash prize in hand, and adding some personal savings, the group embarked on this album project, which they have dedicated to all families (thus the title of the album).

After winning the Christmas Battle Of the Bands, CrisKroz had also performed live for the Church Of Divine Mercy in the Families United concert.

Known for their unique style of Christian Praise & Worship music, their genre is classified under Contemporary Christian Gospel.

Why You Should Own This Album

Firstly, it gives a fresh prespective or twist to some golden oldies. Guess that was the element that won them the championship last year.

Second, there are not many creative Malaysian Catholics who release albums. So when they do, support them so that more talent will emerge and we will have a great pool. For so many years we have been always buying foreign and Prostestants, right? Nothing against that, but Belilah Barangan Malaysia, especially Katolik Malaysia. Isn't it fantastic?

Third, they are promoting good family values.

Fourth and most importantly, they are also supporting some charities - especially since one of them is the St Thomas More building fund... ha... ;-)

On a personal note, I'm also proud to say that two of the members are parishioners of St Thomas More and in fact one of them - the cute drummer Christopher is from our Music Ministry (girls I'm not sure if he's still available though. You gotta do some research yourself - sorry).

I've seen Chris grew up from a little boy into a young man whom God has blessed with the ability to play several instruments (drums, guitar, bass, piano... to say the least).

Aloysius is also a good friend, whose life testimony on God's providence will shock you into the faith if not anything. Besides that, Aloy is also another one who plays several instruments well.

I don't really know Ravi's family that well but I'm sure they too have a compelling Faith story to share with us.

So if you guys want to know more - first get the album and then perhaps one day they might have a concert in a parish near you.

To order the albums, email: hazelong888@gmail.com

If you are from abroad (outside Malaysia), you can pay through PayPal.

You can either have it shipped to you or you can buy it for someone you know in Malaysia as a Christmas present. We can include a card with your personalised message for them.

With that said, it's off to my own Christmas mass practice soon, not forgetting mass for tomorrow.

To all of you Catholic Christians out there - Have a fantastic Advent and a wonderful Christmas!!!
